Missing woman found dead

A 66-year-old missing woman has been found dead in Christchurch this evening.

Police confirmed in a statement this evening the woman was found by Police Search and Rescue at about 6pm tonight.

The death was not being treated as suspicious and will be referred to the Coroner.

Police acknowledged the efforts Coastguard Sumner volunteers, Land Search and Rescue, and Fire and Emergency New Zealand staff, as well as everyone who made contact with possible sightings after an appeal for information.
